My first Mother's Day...

I am so grateful to be a mother! A woman explained how the title of mother is special because there are only a few people in her life who can call her mother. I agree, this little man is the only person in the world who can call me his mommy. Even though he can't talk, I feel it when he looks at me and it melts my heart. I love you little guy gray and I am so happy to be your mommy forever!

I am also so grateful for my adorable mom, anything good about me can be traced back directly to her. She inspires me, comforts me, laughs with me, cries with me, cheers me on, believes in me, she just gets me and I love her for that. As Bobby so lovingly puts it "Your mom is your best friend, you talk to her every day!" I am one of the lucky 6 who gets to call her Mom! Happy Mother's Day mommy dear!"

We spent the day flying to Dallas to see Bobby's family and on Tuesday we are headed to various destinations for the next month including: Grand Cayman, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Updates to come!

The simple life in The Avenues...

The weather is absolutely incredible today! I planned on going to the gym this morning and then as I was talking with my mom about the weather, she said that running outside would probably do more for me than the gym. This turned out to be 100% true!

I love my life and I usually never do posts like this but there is something about the aves that makes me so happy! I love the simplicity and the lifestyle here, it reminds me of The Netherlands, and I am so grateful for that. I went outside and passed by the SECOND AVE LAUNDRY MAT, THE CUCINA, people sitting outside, people walking, the mailman smiling at me as he WALKS to deliver the mail to each doorstep, the smell of freshly cut grass, tulips everywhere, swings in front yards, cracks on the sidewalk, etc.

There is so much character here! So, even though I might complain about not having a dishwasher and having to go to the laundry mat, this is home and I would never trade it for the world! It is amazing what a little sunshine and your Ipod can do for you! I hope everyone enjoys the high of 77 today!

We made our way to California for Bobby's spring break! The trip included stopping in Vegas for the third time in three months and visiting Eddie, Mary, and baby E. We went to D-Land and Grayson loved it so much that he slept through his first ride... Mr. Toads Wild Ride just wasn't wild enough. Peter Pan was next and he loved it as well as meeting Mr. Mickey Mouse. We had a blast and wish we were still there!
