is he a dream or what? time has passed since i last posted something on this pathetic blog... now that holly dolly has this amazing new camera, she has become my photographer! no more red eyes... well maybe there will be when i post my own pics. i am anything but a photographer with my old camera and no mac mac.

i am feeling great about life, except for the fact that my baby boy is growing up. i so wish i could freeze time and keep him little forever. today we went to barnes and noble and read books and i bought I'll love you forever... yes, i cried while reading it to him. he is 11 months tomorrow and cute as can be. he has two bottom teeth, loves books, anything that isn't a toy, and enjoys eating everything. i still bring him in bed with me, even though he can for sure sleep through the night, and i just can't get enough of my wittle bug.

Well, unfortunately our time here in NYC is coming to a close. Last weekend we went to the met, visited some parks, enjoyed some food at the shake shack, pj clarke's, and pinkberry.... it was a good time. I have loved being here so much, it will be sad to leave. I am planning a few more fun things for this week. We will for sure be back to visit a lot! xoxo

I am so obsessed with NYC! We are enjoying the ongoing process of exploring the city, finding our own fav places, as well as hitting up some tourist stuff! Last weekend included the festival in Little Italy, shopping, walking around Greenwich Village, eating, and more eating! We also met up with my gal pal Sara and her hubby who were visiting the city.

Earlier in the week, we met up with bobby for a great lunch by the water. On Thursday, the baby and I went to lunch and Soho with Jessica. We got in the car right before that crazy storm hit.... can't believe the damage it caused!

I had the most wonderful weekend in NYC... this city is so fun and so alive! I feel more alive being here. It is just nice to be away from Utah... no offense ;) The baby and I went out and got a cupcake at magnolia bakery, passed by NBC studios, Radio City music hall, MoMA, and many other fun places. I love being in the middle of it all... it was fashion week and there was a lot happening. We ate at some great restaurants... shopped... walked around the wall street area and found a street that is so europe (the subways make me miss my mission).

The highlight was being able to be at ground zero on September 11th. When it was light we saw white balloons floating upwards... and when the night came... two bright beams of light filled the space where the towers once were. All around us people stood in the streets, looking up... I could feel the patriotism in the air and it was amazing.

I am excited to further explore this city, and take better pictures... wish Bobby wasn't working so much :(

Barefoot Contessa became my BFF when I was living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota last summer (worst place on earth). I was in my first trimester and so so sick. I stayed in bed all day watching the food network, craving everything I saw. I don't know why all of the food I had made me sick but all of the food I saw on TV sounded delightful.

I refer to her as "barefoot" and I just love her! She is so sweet and her recipes always look so good and easy. I watch her almost everyday and if I miss her, I have a DVR full of her. However, I must confess that I have only tried a handful of her recipes. I don't have a dishwasher and making huge meals stresses me out. So, if you don't already love her, turn her on and make a new friend!

My mom and dad are moving back from Grand Cayman, I am so excited to have them back! Tonight we found a costume box and I couldn't resist playing dress up with my baby gray, even though he is a boy! We call him buggy, bugs, buggy boo, etc.... I thought this was a perfect pic to capture that name. His smile is perfect, that dimple is to die for! He smiles and strikes a pose whenever I turn on the camera. I am so obsessed with him... aren't you?

Tuesday thoughts:

I wish I was more of a blogger.

I wish I had a great camera, mac computer, and knew anything about editing.

I get this weird jealous feeling when look at blogs, for various reasons.

I miss my husband who is currently in NYC working.

I sold our Dave Matthews tickets at the last second for 70 dollars even though they were free.

I hate eating cake and ice cream with a fork, a spoon allows you to get every last bite.

I've never been much of a soda drinker but I've been having a Dr. Pepper craze out of nowhere!

I watch Good Things Utah almost every morning.

Two Years...

Happy Anniversary husbie wusbie!!! Wow, a lot has happened in two short years of marriage... we both graduated and we have a baby! I love you bobby boy and thanks for the amazing date at La Caille! The bottom pic is of us there celebrating, the first three are the only pics from our wedding day that were on our computer. It was such a perfect day when we were married and it has been that way ever since! I love our life together and can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!

Bobby graduated on May 7th with a double major in Political Science and French.
Graduate school still lies ahead, but we are excited about this milestone! Congratulations! We are so proud of you!

My first Mother's Day...

I am so grateful to be a mother! A woman explained how the title of mother is special because there are only a few people in her life who can call her mother. I agree, this little man is the only person in the world who can call me his mommy. Even though he can't talk, I feel it when he looks at me and it melts my heart. I love you little guy gray and I am so happy to be your mommy forever!

I am also so grateful for my adorable mom, anything good about me can be traced back directly to her. She inspires me, comforts me, laughs with me, cries with me, cheers me on, believes in me, she just gets me and I love her for that. As Bobby so lovingly puts it "Your mom is your best friend, you talk to her every day!" I am one of the lucky 6 who gets to call her Mom! Happy Mother's Day mommy dear!"

We spent the day flying to Dallas to see Bobby's family and on Tuesday we are headed to various destinations for the next month including: Grand Cayman, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Updates to come!

The simple life in The Avenues...

The weather is absolutely incredible today! I planned on going to the gym this morning and then as I was talking with my mom about the weather, she said that running outside would probably do more for me than the gym. This turned out to be 100% true!

I love my life and I usually never do posts like this but there is something about the aves that makes me so happy! I love the simplicity and the lifestyle here, it reminds me of The Netherlands, and I am so grateful for that. I went outside and passed by the SECOND AVE LAUNDRY MAT, THE CUCINA, people sitting outside, people walking, the mailman smiling at me as he WALKS to deliver the mail to each doorstep, the smell of freshly cut grass, tulips everywhere, swings in front yards, cracks on the sidewalk, etc.

There is so much character here! So, even though I might complain about not having a dishwasher and having to go to the laundry mat, this is home and I would never trade it for the world! It is amazing what a little sunshine and your Ipod can do for you! I hope everyone enjoys the high of 77 today!

We made our way to California for Bobby's spring break! The trip included stopping in Vegas for the third time in three months and visiting Eddie, Mary, and baby E. We went to D-Land and Grayson loved it so much that he slept through his first ride... Mr. Toads Wild Ride just wasn't wild enough. Peter Pan was next and he loved it as well as meeting Mr. Mickey Mouse. We had a blast and wish we were still there!

I was just looking through some of the pictures taken at the hospital. It all seems so foggy to me... I can't believe how much we went through. I was such an emotional wreck! Thank you to everyone who had to put up with my hormones and craziness!

Kelli made this cute little hat for him the day he was born! She is so sweet! Thanks kel!

The IV reminded me of one of those braids I got in Jr. High when I went to the Caribbean... it was always hanging down and swinging around. If you are a girl reading this, you know you had one once too and loved every second.

Mom... what would I have done without you there??? Love your face and hope I'm as hot as you someday... can't believe you gave birth to six kids and have had ZERO plastic surgery, lipo, botox, etc. P.S. Thanks for the no stretch marks gene!

Sweet husbie of mine... last but not least, Bobby is so amazing! He got so emotional when his little man was born and he is so great with him. He always burps him, changes him, and gets up with him at night so I can sleep... can you believe that?! He even does all of this when he has 7:30 am class. I couldn't have done any of this without his help. I didn't even change one diaper in the hospital!

From 2 to 3... meet the newest addition to our family!!

Robert Grayson Bourne... named after his daddy and a long line of Roberts will go by his middle name, Grayson. This little man was born on Sunday, January 10th at 6:14 pm. He arrived after almost 24 hours of crazy labor and shocked the doctor with his weight... 8 lbs 7 oz!!! Dr. Summers had thought he would be around 7 lbs but boy was he wrong. Grayson measured 20.5 inches and has dark hair and a nice tan;)

The poor little guy was sick and we had to stay in the hospital for six days total. It was so hard, he had to stay in the nursery and experienced many horrible things including a spinal tap and numerous IV's in his hands and head. Needless to say we are all so happy to be home and are doing marvelous! We love you little man!

P.S. Yes, this means we will be blogging a lot more and our blog will indeed be a shrine to this little bug!

One Year...

We have officially been married for one year! Saturday was our Anniversary and it was wonderful, even though we are in Sioux Falls, South Dakota of all places. We had decided that we would fully celebrate in Utah when we move back in August. However, the man never ceases to amaze and surprise me. He sent me beautiful flowers, gave me a present I had been wanting, and made reservations at Foley's restaurant. The food and ambiance were marvellous, but the company was even better! Thanks love!
P.S. can't wait for round 2 in Utah!

Yes... I finally graduated

after attending many classes from a number of schools,

serving a mission, and marrying a Ute..

I ended up at the University of Utah where I finished my

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Thank you to my wonderful parents for making it possible!

Also, I never would have graduated from this school had I not married Bobby.

Well, my parents and Holly and Summer are officially living in the Cayman Islands. They are in an amazing condo right on the beach. My dad has been there for the past few months starting his new exciting job. My mom and the girls left last night to join him. It was really hard to say goodbye. I talked with them today and heard that Holly and Summer ran into the ocean with their clothes on first thing. Bobby and I are excited to visit in March. WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Happy Turkey Day!!! We had a yummy dinner with my mom and sisters. We really wish that my dad could have been here, he is currently working in the Caymans. We also wish that Eddie and Mary and baby Eddie could have been here, they are in Texas. We also really missed Kel and Ky who had Thanksgiving with his family.

I made my first pumpkin pie! It turned out really cute. I am finally learning how to cook! (Thank you Williams-Sonoma:)

So, I guess we will finally start posting. We are busy with school at the U and we even have a class together. We live in the Aves in Salt Lake and are loving life! We haven't taken very many pictures lately but I'll try and post a picture to see if I can figure out this whole blog thing... it worked! This was on our honeymoon in St. Maarten at our favorite place, Mama Pizza. We met a Dutch family that night and so I was able to use my Dutch again!
